Why do you need a registered office address?

When forming a limited company you must provide an official registered office address. This is the location Companies House and HMRC will use to communicate with your company. This must be a physical address in the UK. Companies House will not allow the use of a PO Box address for the purpose of the registered office. This address is freely available to the general public and will be displayed on Companies House register.
